Madison Beer — BOYSHIT (Live Performance) | Vevo LIFT
You could hear it from the get-go. When Madison Beers As She Pleases EP dropped a couple years ago, it immediately started a sizable reaction around the world, placing the name of the new singer on the lips of instant fans and industry tastemakers. A mix of self-assurance, sensuality and terrific songcraft made for a pretty much irresistible package. Beers moved quickly since then, too. That initial recognition for her indie project has blossomed into a deal with Epic Records, and back at the start of this year, Beer showed her followers further growth with the elaborate sci-fi narrative of her very cool «Good In Goodbye» vid, as well as the sizzling lament of her «Selfish» vid, both of which she conceived and directed. When «Baby» started to clock mega views at the end of the summer, it was pretty easy to predict: this woman is going all the way. Her performances for our LIFT series are as enticing and substantial as the vision she has for her own art. We worked closely with Madison to capture these radiant performances, the first of which, «BOYSHIT» is now here. Its from her upcoming album, Life Support. As she prowls our stage, she definitely owns it. Stay tuned, theres more coming.
VERSE
Could have been my happy ever after
Living like we’re in a fairy tale
But you and me were more like a disaster
I should have known
Intoxicated by your reputation
I can see the mischief in your eyes
Trusted you despite my reservations
Now I’m alone
PRE
I was so rich
With all this love
You wanted it
And I was so dumb
I let you in
When I should have run
Now all that’s left
Is something numb
CHORUS
I gave you all I had to lose
My skin, my soul, my finest jewels
You stole it all for someone new and then
You gave away the best of me
My sins, my sweetest ecstasy
To someone worth much less than me
Yeah you’re my Robin Hood
VERSE
Everybody says that you’re so great, yeah
Walk around like you deserve that gold
But what would happen if they knew the place that
You got it from
I guess that I was just another victim
Someone that you thought that you could play
I had a feeling and I should have listened
Now there’s no us
PRE
I was so rich
With all this love
You wanted it
And I was so dumb
I let you in
When I should have run
Now all that’s left
Is something numb
CHORUS
I gave you all I had to lose
My skin, my soul, my finest jewels
You stole it all for someone new and then
You gave away the best of me
My sins, my sweetest ecstasy
To someone worth much less than me
Yeah you’re my Robin Hood
BRIDGE
So alone
So alone
So alone
So alone
CHORUS
I gave you all I had to lose
My skin, my soul, my finest jewels
You stole it all for someone new And then
You gave away the best of me
My sins, my sweetest ecstasy
To someone worth much less than me
Yeah you’re my Robin Hood
